What Trefine stores
Trefine stores your practice data locally on your device. This can include your latest voice take, transcripts and corrections, coaching feedback, streaks, morning goals, reminder preference, and evening reflections. Trefine does not require an account and does not maintain a cloud profile about you.
Voice and on-device AI
Your voice recordings and coaching conversations are processed on your device. They are not uploaded to Trefine servers or cloud storage. Trefine keeps only the most recent take for each voice drill and replaces the previous take when you record again.
Culture quiz content
Trefine’s Culture feature fetches short extracts from Wikipedia to build its cards, then rewrites them on your device using an on-device AI model. These requests go directly to Wikimedia (Wikipedia’s host) and are for quiz content, not personal coaching: they send only a country and topic, and do not include your recordings, goals, reflections, or an account identifier. Content is not cached; each card is generated fresh on your device.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Trefine uses notification services to deliver the morning reminder you requested. Your goal recording remains on your device; it is not attached to the notification request.
External links
Trefine and this site may link to other websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Opening an email link uses the mail application you choose.
Your choices
You can decline microphone or notification permission, clear app data in Android settings, or uninstall Trefine. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes Trefine’s locally stored practice data. Because there is no Trefine account, there is no remote personal profile to delete.
